Published bimonthly by the Jesuits of English Canada, it is ecumenical in spirit and ethical in perspective. We're recognized by the Catholic Press Association as the best Catholic magazine in North America.

An Award-Winning Magazine

Prize CupEvery year since 1990, Compass has won awards for excellence from the Catholic Press Association, representing Catholic publications in North America, and Canadian Church Press, representing Christian publications in Canada.

This year, Compass has also won a National Magazine Award. The theme section of our March/April 1995 issue (Vol. 13 #1), focusing on the 1950s, received a silver award in the category "Best Editorial Package."

Compass also received two first-place awards for 1995 from Canadian Church Press:

Best Feature in a Magazine or Journal, for David Waltner-Toews's article " Bread Connects Us with Creation," (Vol. 12 #6, Jan./Feb. 1995)

Compass (the print version) accepts, indeed solicits, advertising. Ad rates for one-time placement of camera-ready copy are as follows (all prices in Canadian dollars; 7% GST will be added). Reduced rates for mulitiple placements. For non-camera-ready copy, there is a $75 typesetting charge.

Compass is mailed to reach readers before the end of February, April, June, August, October and December. Booking deadlines are the first week of the month prior to the mailing month. For typesetting, copy is due by the booking deadline; camera-ready artwork must be received by the end of that month.
